From the fact that people are very different it follows that, if we treat them equally, the result must be inequality in their actual position, and that the only way to place them in an equal position would be to treat them differently. Equality before the law and material equality are therefore not only different but are in conflict with each other; and we can achieve either one or the other, but not both at the same time

BREAKING: Global Warming Proven to be Man-made

On the heals of Climate-Gate (emails downloaded from the CRU in East Anglia, England), now this:

The New Zealand Government's chief climate advisory unit NIWA is under fire for allegedly massaging raw climate data to show a global warming trend that wasn't there. The scandal breaks as fears grow worldwide that corruption of climate science is not confined to just Britain's CRU climate research centre.

Click here to read the article. Now we have evidence from another site, this time in New Zealand, that Global Warming is man-made up!

Private Sector Experience? I don' need no Private Sector Experience!

Over at the blog of the American Enterprise Institute, Jay Richards shares a graph that is, well, very interesting (if not downright frightening):

The height of the blue bars are a measure of the private-sector experience of the cabinet members of past presidents. Now, I am not surprised that Democrat presidents appoint men and women from the public sector at a higher rate than their Republican counterparts. But, sheesh, look at Obama's cabinet.

Obama's is a cabinet composed of academics and government bureaucrats. Is it any wonder that these people haven't a clue as to how the private sector, America's unique expression of democratic capitalism, works? Obama, of course, has zero private sector experience. By contrast, the only other president to have zero private sector experience was Eisenhower. Of the latter we might surmise that he recognized his lack of experience. He hired more private sector cabinet members than any other president.

One final observation: George W. Bush's cabinet functioned superbly in getting us out of the recession caused by the tech bubble in the late 90s. Are any of you surprised that his cabinet, also, was heavy on private sector experience.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Hide The Decline -- The Rest of the Story

The previous post from the Minnesotans for Global Warming was a lot of fun. Here now is the truth behind the video. This is the graph that was presented to the scientific community in which the declines in temperature were hidden.

The relevant portion of the graph is from about the years 1850 to 2000. Here we have the famous hockey stick showing a sharp spike in global warming. When all the data is included, however, we get a much different picture.

Note when all the data is included, what we have is a decline in global temperatures (the red lines). I'll let you make up your minds as to whether we ought to reorder the economies of the world based the first or the second charts.

Hide The Decline

This, from Minnesotans For Global Warming...

If you haven't heard, 61 megabytes of email correspondence between pro-warming climate researchers have been downloaded and placed on the internet. The correspondence reveals, at the very least, an attitude that the climate warming skeptics need to be prevented from publishing in peer-reviewed journals. The parody (above) refers to an email by Michael Mann, a leading climate scientist and advocate of anthropogenic global warming, who wrote an email to a collegue suggesting that the collegue manipulate data in order to "hide the decline" in temperatures.

The Koran: Why Retaliation Works

From Sura 2:178 in Tarif's Khalidid's new English translation of the Qur'an:
"The prospect of realiation saves lives, O you who are possessed of minds."
Keeping this in mind, what do you suppose Muslim terrorists think of those of us who, when women and children are murdered by suicide bombs, wring their hands in guilt over what we must have done to deserve such horror? And, per this text, what do you think Muslim terrorists think of a people that react swiftly and violently when attacked?

Mike Potemra has additional comments on this translation over at NRO.
